St. Brandon’s Church
St. Brandon’s Church, Brancepeth

Photographs have been taken of all Tombstones in both New & Old Churchyards. Where possible the inscriptions have been read and recorded in .pdf format. A CD has been made containing pictures and inscriptions covering both Churchyards. These .pdf files are too large to be included on the Website but the CD may be purchased from:
Peter Cargill, Brancepeth Archives & History Group,
4 Railway Cottages,
Brancepeth Village,
Durham, DH7 8DL
at £10 each + Postage & Packing.
The Old Churchyard contains approximately 240 gravestones all of which have been photographed digitally, and enhanced to make the text more easily read. Where possible the inscriptions have been transcribed and recorded, although in some cases the text has been lost through erosion or other factors.
Most of the pages in the files from the Old Churchyard, on the CD, contain two gravestones with their related texts. The more elaborate, or interesting gravestones, have a page to themselves.
High quality prints of individual pages may also be obtained from the above
address printed on photographic A4 paper at £1.50 per page + P& Packing.
